Boers

The other great passion we have at Revelation Ranch is Boer goats. It all started fourteen years ago when we took in a rescue Boer goat from our local equine veterinarian. Well, she needed friends and now the rest is history.

Although, we raise Nigerian Dwarf goats since 2016, in 2021 we began to get back into the Boer goats. Starting with some of the does listed below. Since then we have showed extensively.

We have a disease free herd at Revelation Ranch. We test all of our goats for CAE, Johne's Disease, and CL yearly.

We also do our own fecal egg counts and FAMANCHA scores here on the ranch, striving to select for the goats that are more resistant to Haemonchus.

We are members of the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA).

E8 has won multiple senoir Grand and Reserve Champions for the Percentage Does, most recently winning Reverve Grand Champion of the Senior Division at the Showdown on the Brazos. She currently has 13 individual ABGA points and 42 progeny points. RR7 Helen, her most recent doeling, placed first in the 0-3 month percentage doe class at the Showdown on the Brazo (July 2023).

We purchased "Dream" at the 2020 Cowboy Classic Customer Appreciation sale. Dream was Overall Reserve Junior Division Fullblood doe at the NETGRA show in Henderson November 2020 and she placed 1st in her 24-36 Fullblood Doe Class at the North Texas Fair and Rodeo in August of 2022. She has 2 individual ABGA points. Dream also has 1 individual JABGA point.

Alina has one individual JABGA point after placing first at the Comal County Fair and Rodeo 0-3 month percentage doe class. Alina also won Overall Reserve Champion Percentage Doe at the Showdown on the Brazos in July 2023. She won Reserve Champion Percentage Senior Doe in the October 2024 Showdown on the Brazos.

RR7 Helen, Alina's half sister, placed 1st in here 0-3 month percentage doe class at the Showdown on the Brazos (July 2023), giving her one individual ABGA show point.
